Whether you’re tackling the 24, 42, 63, or even the 93-mile Chinkapin Hollow Gravel Grinder, our training plans are designed to help you arrive prepared and confident on race day.

  • Structured for All Levels: From first-time gravel riders to seasoned endurance athletes, each plan provides the right balance of endurance, power, and skill work.
  • Weekly Workouts: Each week includes specific rides to build aerobic capacity, improve climbing strength, and sharpen handling skills on gravel terrain.
  • Progressive Build: The training starts with a strong foundation and gradually increases volume and intensity to match your chosen race distance.
  • Race-Day Ready: You’ll train with purpose as you learn pacing, fueling, and race tactics from each plan so there are no surprises on event day. Meet Your Coaches: Morgan Chaffin, Isabella Robles, and Patty Pittman

Morgan Chaffin is an elite athlete and world-class coach for Maxiom Coaching.  With years of high-level competition experience and deep scientific knowledge of performance, Morgan delivers personalized, results-driven coaching to help you break through barriers and reach new heights. 

Isabella Rice Robles competes in MTB, CX, Gravel, Enduro, DH, and Road racing. With a degree in Integrative Physiology and certification as a personal trainer since 2018, she blends a science-driven, holistic approach with experience as a pro-level racer to help athletes build strength, endurance, and overall performance.

Coach Patty

Patty Pittman is a USA Cycling Certified Coach with a BS in Kinesiology, as well as NASM certifications in strength training, performance enhancement, corrective exercise, and sports nutrition, and over 20 years developing endurance athletes across all disciplines. An experienced cyclist herself, she designed the Chinkapin Hollow Gravel Grinder training plans around the specific physiological and technical demands of gravel racing, preparing athletes for every distance.
